STARS of the hit television show Strictly Come Dancing wowed onlookers as they gave an electrifying performance at Oakley Hall.

Latin and ballroom dancers Flavia Cacace and Vincent Simone, famous for putting celebrities through their paces on the show, delighted the crowd as they strutted their stuff.

The Italian duo put on a stunning performance, showcasing a selection of impressive routines, including the rumba and tango.

The event was organised by Sentinel Housing Association as a treat for 100 of their elderly residents from eight sheltered housing schemes.

Some took to the dance floor themselves, while the less mobile members of the audience were pampered with massages, manicures and facial treatments.

Miss Cacace said: "We're thrilled to have been able to perform here and give people a show to remember. Everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves and that's the important thing."

Mr Simone said: "We're very passionate about dancing and it's wonderful to see the people here share that passion. When they were youn-ger, dancing was a lot bigger than it is today."

Eight to 12-year-olds from local dance school Footsteps also gave a demonstration and the event was opened by Sentinel chairman Charles Kaye.

He said: "The day has been driven entirely by the staff, who wanted to give the elderly residents a fantastic day.

"It's been great for them to have seen these two very impressive dancers, and also to have shown them a few moves of their own."
