A BASINGSTOKE man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary after reports of a man trying to enter houses in Rooksdown.
Officers were called at approximately 3am on Friday, May 10 a man was reportedly trying door handles on Pumphouse Way and Oakenshaw Reach. Nothing was reported as stolen.
Police attended the scene, where a man tried to flee. A short foot chase ensued, with officers detaining a man nearby.
A 30-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary dwelling with intent to steal.
The man remains in custody whilst police carry out their enquiries.
