STAR of Game Thrones and Our Flag Means Death, Kristian Nairn, has shared his thoughts about our beloved town.

The 48-year-old Northern Irish actor, best known for his roles as Hodor in Game of Thrones and Wee John Feeney in Our Flag Means Death, was one of the many famous faces at this year's Basingstoke Comic Con.

Speaking to the Gazette on Saturday, May 11, Kristian shared his thoughts on the event, and the town as a whole:

"It's crazy. I was here yesterday as well and it was really busy and today is 10 times even busier.

"I've never been to Basingstoke before, I've been all around the area but not here and I didn't know what to expect and it's been really good."

One of the key points Mr Nairn picked out was the town's infamous roundabouts. He said: "I've seen the roundabouts. People of Basingstoke I have not had a chance to experience the metropolis."

Reporter, Lola Crossman, then light-heartedly told him how roundabouts are part of the "Basingstoke experience".

Kristian then said: "Oh is it? Is there a McDonald's here? Basingstoke is for me if it has a McDonald's. I'm hoping to see a bit more before I go, the weather's amazing."
