INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed Cuban violinist Omar Puente and Italian artist Ilario Ferrari are to perform at The Forge, on Saturday, June 8, in a joint exploration of afro-Cuban jazz and Mediterranean culture.

This unique fusion will see the pair play a blend of original and Latin Jazz compositions.

Known for their enchanting performances filled with instrumental brilliance and soulful singing, their show promises to be an entertaining evening of music and humour.

Two weeks later, on Friday, June 14, The Forge will welcome iconic Spanish musician Juan Martín.

Raised in Andalucia and Madrid, Martín is listed among the top three flamenco guitarists in the world by Guitar Player USA.

Known for his unique sound, Martín's extensive career has included numerous world tours, recordings and an admirable collection of teaching materials for fellow guitar enthusiasts, including the lauded El Arte Flamenco de la Guitarra, affectionately known as The Bible of flamenco guitar.

The Forge's packed calendar continues with an evening showcase from award-winning Scottish singer-songwriter Dean Owens, on Thursday, June 20.

Displaying a blend of Americana and Scottish roots, Owens' song collection is delivered with the passion of a rock 'n' roller yet garnished with the sympathetic approach of folk's finest storytellers.

His travels from Scotland's urban landscapes to the vast American deserts have had a significant impact on his music, creating a soulful and melodious body of work.

Later on, Saturday, June 22 sees the much-anticipated return of Mark Morriss, lead singer of the 1990s band The Bluetones.

Having toured as a solo artist since 2008, Morriss is known for his unique ability to blend songs from his extensive back catalogue with enthralling anecdotes of his time on the road.

Finally, the award-winning duo of Tori Freestone and Alcyona Mick is set to shake up the UK jazz scene with a performance on Saturday, June 29.

Their premiere performance of Birds of Paradise recently won the Ivor's Award for Jazz Composition 2022, while Mick has been shortlisted for a Parliamentary Jazz Instrumentalist of the Year award.
