THE Labour Party has selected its Parliamentary candidate for North West Hampshire in the upcoming general election.
Andy Fitchet has been chosen to run against Conservative Kit Malthouse, who has been in the seat since 2015.
Mr Fitchet stood as the party candidate in the 2017 general election, achieving the highest ever Labour vote in North West Hampshire.
On announcing his candidacy, he said: “I am incredibly proud to stand once again to try and become the MP for my home. North West Hampshire is where I grew up, where I work and we deserve a truly local and committed MP.

“Some current polls show me beating the Tories, I believe I can, and I am going to work hard for every single vote. Andover, Whitchurch, Overton, Kingsclere, Tadley, Pamber, Rooksdown and all the villages in between deserve better, and I am going to work hard to bring that about.”
He continued: “This general election is a change election; do we continue on the path of decline and division or do we choose hope and stability. With a changed Labour Party we can have a stable economy, we can get the NHS back on its feet, we can protect women and girls, tackle antisocial behaviour and we can create GB Energy to make the UK green energy superpower. We can only do this, however, if we are privileged enough to get into government.”
