AN AMERICAN fast food restaurant specialising in chicken is thought to be opening in Basingstoke, taking over a unit previously occupied by Tapas Revolution.
Slim Chickens is understood to be opening a branch in Festival Place and is advertising positions for the Basingstoke venue on its website including assistant manager.
According to its website, Slim Chickens started with a mission to bring ‘a dose of that southern hospitality to a fast, casual – serving handmade food’.

It adds that ‘it all started with a craving for a quick, quality meal – fresh chicken, cooked to order’.
It launched its first restaurant in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 2003 and now has restaurants across the world including numerous branches in the UK. The nearest to Basingstoke are in Guildford and Southampton.

Its menu includes chicken based meals such as wings, salads, sandwiches and wraps along with sides such as fries, coleslaw, gravy, Texas toast and mac and cheese.
Slim Chickens is thought to be taking over an empty unit previously occupied by Spanish tapas restaurant Tapas Revolution which opened in the shopping centre in August 2022 before closing just over a year later in November 2023.
