ADVENTURERS including astronaut Tim Peake will appear at AdventureFest as part of a family festival returning to Overton this year.

The festival about all things adventure will take place as part of CarFest, running at Laverstoke Park from August 23 to 25, with star-studded interviews, live demonstrations and workshops.

Headlining the event, on the Explore More stage with Skoda, is TV and radio presenter Angellica Bell, best known for presenting the One Show.

Fellow presenter, and ambassador for The Scout Association, Anita Rani, will also appear on the stage, in addition to Tim Peake, the first British astronaut to visit the International Space Station.

Architect and host of BAFTA nominated show Amazing Spaces George Clarke will make an appearance sharing stories of his experiences travelling the world.

Author, journalist and expedition expert Ash Bhardwaj, who has previously climbed Mount Everest, will speak about his new book Why We Travel and blogger Daniel Eggington will open up about his travels.

Guests will also have the chance to learn a new skill as joining the line-up is the founder of Woodlore, Britain’s first School of Wilderness and Bushcraft, Ray Mears. The founder, who has starred in a series of TV escapades, will be providing on-stage demos for any avid survivalist.

Visitors will also have the chance to immerse themselves in action-packed sessions to learn essential skills needed to conquer the wilderness at the ‘Go Outdoors!’ area.

From land sailing with the British Land Sailing Federation to trying out the modern pentathlon with Pentathlon GB, and sailing and bushcraft workshops, guests can try out a number of activities.

An 'adrenaline junkies zone' will also be available at the festival with parkour, a surf simulator, rock climbing and axe throwing.

This year's festival will also introduce the 'conservation zone' providing guests with an insight into a variety of environmental issues, and how they can make a difference.

Finally, charity partner Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust will host a challenge where festival goers can dive into the ultimate gutter boat race challenge where they pick a vessel, power it up and zip around a mini Isle of Wight.

CarFest will take place at Laverstoke Park Farm from August 23 to 25, and will feature musical guests including Richard Ashcroft, Jake Shears, Johnny Marr and Olly Murs.
