NORTH Waltham villagers, undeterred by summer's chill, enjoyed their annual communal feast and fête this year.
A contrast to the previous year when stifling heat caused the popular 'Big Lunch' to see reduced participation and dog show cancellation.
This June, the cooler climate facilitated the return of the much-loved dog show, including a wagging tail competition, and boosted appetites for the cook-it-yourself barbecue.
Children revelled in the newest attraction, Tricky Micky's Punch and Judy, which was met with hearty laughter.

The agreeable weather further energised attendees to participate enthusiastically in various activities such as coconut shy and chucking cushions.
Funds raised from the event are earmarked for St Michael's Church, a pre-school, and other local needs.
The local charity trust hosted and majorly organised this four-hour occasion held at the Cuckoo Meadow recreation ground.
Big Lunch organiser Adrian McLaughlin was modest about North Waltham’s biggest annual get-together, adding: "We just aim to break even and bring the community together."
