ANVIL Arts has enhanced its community presence by collaborating with local charity, Greenfingers, a Mencap Basingstoke project.
Greenfingers, a horticultural therapy and training project, has transformed the outdoor terrace at The Anvil into a vibrant area with three large wooden planters brimming with violas, begonias, and lobelia.
The foliage overlooks Churchill Way, offering a rejuvenated space for locals to relax this summer.

Noelia, Greenfingers deputy manager, said: "It is a project for adults with learning disabilities and those who need support with their mental health. It is a safe and peaceful environment to spend time, meet new people and gain new skills in horticulture and woodwork. The participants spend the day gardening, growing vegetables and flowers."
Matthew Cleaver, chief executive at Anvil Arts, said: "The terrace is really well-used during the summer and these planters make it even more inviting. We’re delighted with these planters and very happy to link up with Greenfingers. We’re looking forward to seeing the plants flourish thanks to their expertise. I’m sure that audiences will appreciate the results of their work.
"Our foyers and bars are open before performances from 6pm, so plenty of time to enjoy refreshments before the show."
