A BASINGSTOKE man who suffered life-threatening injuries after coming off the road and crashing into a tree was part of a group of seven motorcyclists.

Police are now appealing for witnesses following the serious crash on Sunday, June 9 just after 2pm on the A339 Basingstoke Road, just south of Spain Lane, Lasham.

It was reported that a blue Suzuki motorcycle left the carriageway and crashed into a tree.

The rider, a man in his 20s from Basingstoke, suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Hampshire Constabulary said he was part of a group of seven motorcyclists travelling south along the A339.

Police were called to the incident and are now appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage.

A statement from the police said: “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision itself or this group prior to the collision.
