A VAN became stuck under a railway bridge in Basingstoke during rush-hour this morning causing delays for drivers.

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed it was called to the incident in Vyne Road, Basingstoke just before 8.45am on Wednesday, June 12, where the van / small lorry was stuck under the bridge.

(Image: Sophia Wale) Stagecoach South advised passengers of delays to various of its bus routes because of the incident, which impacted the surrounding roads including Chapel Hill.

In a statement sent at 11.10am, Hampshire Constabulary said: “No injuries were reported and the road has now reopened.”
