TWO people in Fleet and Church Crookham were reportedly scammed on Facebook Marketplace, sparking a police appeal.

Hampshire Constabulary are appealing for information after residents in the towns advertised electrical goods for sale on the selling platform in May.

A man then used a fake profile with false details to contact the sellers to arrange collection for the items.

Once at the address, the money for the goods did not transfer into the seller's account. They were told it could take up to 24 hours for the money to appear.

At one address, the man told the seller they could take a photograph of his driving licence, however, the driving licence did not belong to him.

The man then left with the items and blocked the sellers on social media.
