RESIDENTS in Basingstoke are invited to speak to the candidates vying for their vote in this year's general election at a special event.
Attendees will be given the chance to submit questions to all six candidates standing in the constituency on Thursday, June 20 during a hustings event St Mary's Church, in Goat Lane.
The event, which is free to attend, will be hosted by OneChurch Basingstoke, a group aiming to bring churches together in the town.
The organisation said in a statement that the event will be 'your chance to ask questions, voice your concerns, and make an informed decision' at the polls.
Standing in the election next month are candidates; Maria Miller (Conservative), Luke Murphy (Labour), Raymond Saint (Reform UK), Michael Howard-Sorrell (Green Party), Alan Harvey Stone (Hampshire Independents) and Richard Whelan (Liberal Democrats).

To vote in the general election on July 4, you must be registered to vote. All eligible voters must register before the deadline on Tuesday, June 18. Further information is available at gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Attendees are asked to submit their questions before the event via the booking form, in addition to a number of general questions that will be posed to candidates.
