A DRINK driver who was stopped in Basingstoke has been disqualified for 12 months.

Valerio Mandriota was caught on the junction of Andover Road and B3400, while behind the wheel of a Fiat 500 on April 20.

It was found that he had 50 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

The 42-year-old admitted the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on May 28.

Mandriota, of High Wycombe, was also fined £1,500 and ordered to pay a £600 victim surcharge, along with £85 court costs.
