Known as a progressive force in Quebec's folk scene, the group's repertoire spans traditional sources and original compositions.

Their powerful, soulful music has roots in the Celtic diaspora but also draws from a wide assortment of worldwide influences.

Established in 2002, Le Vent du Nord has presented more than 2,500 concerts across four continents, winning several prestigious awards along the way.

Showcasing versatility and expertise, they frequently appear on television and radio across Canada, America, France, and the UK.

The band also prides themselves on challenging traditional norms, demonstrated by their creation of a symphonic concert described by Voir Montreal as an event that "puts all traditional folk naysayers to shame."

Their performances are as dynamic and intense as they are joyful, with stunning vocal arrangements that continue to explore uncharted musical territory.

The band's signature sound, defined by button accordion, guitar, and fiddle, is further accentuated by the distinctive earthy tone of the hurdy-gurdy.

Tickets can be purchased for £24, including a £4 booking fee, from Anvil Arts Box office, either by phone on 01256 844244 or by visiting anvilarts.org.uk/events/le-vent-du-nord.
