THERE is just one week to go until the General Election and the election polls show Labour in the lead over the Conservatives, suggesting we could see a new party in power following voting on July 4.

Two opinion polls published this week both of which show Labour well ahead of the Conservatives and Reform in third place.

A poll by Savanta, carried out online from June 19-21 among 2,103 UK adults, gives Labour a 23-percentage point lead.

The figures are Labour 42 per cent, Conservative 19 per cent, Reform UK 16 per cent, Liberal Democrats nine per cent, Green five per cent, SNP three per cent, Plaid Cymru one per cent and other parties five per cent.

The latest poll by Opinium, carried out online from June 19-21 among 2,052 UK adults, puts Labour 20 points ahead.

The figures are Labour 40 per cent, Conservative 20 per cent, Reform 15 per cent, Lib Dems 12 per cent, Green eight per cent, SNP two per cent, Plaid Cymru one per cent and other parties two per cent.
