A CLUB just for mums celebrated its milestone one-year anniversary after launching in Basingstoke last year.

The nationwide company The Mum Club was set up in the town by Hannah Chow, offering social events that put mums first.

Mum-of-two Hannah, from Bramley, decided to take on the franchise last year after moving to the area from Bristol in 2018, a year before her first child was born.

“I moved here from Bristol and after having my first baby I found it so hard to make mum friends, and then we had Covid.

"You go to these baby groups but you can’t have a chat when you’re doing baby massage, and while you do meet other mums, the whole point is you’re doing something with the baby. Whereas with The Mum Club, you meet other mums, have some nice food and a chat.”

The 32-year-old, who used to work for Vodafone, welcomed 20 mums to the anniversary event at The Holly Blue in Beggarwood on June 7 where they enjoyed a celebratory birthday cake.

Hannah said: “The event went so well, each mum was treated to a glass of prosecco, brunch dish and we had a Mum Club Basingstoke birthday cake made as well as receiving our Mum Club goodie bag and monthly sponsored item.

“We also had Buns of Joy, a local business, join us who gifted each mum with a delicious handmade cinnamon bun.”

Since launching in June 2023, the Basingstoke Mum Club has sold out 20 events including at The Tea Bar, Willows Coffee House and the Gabardine Bar.

Hannah thanked everyone who has supported her venture, including the mums who have attended and local businesses.

Events are organised as either a brunch, held once a month, or coffee club.
