Workers at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) have been honoured at the annual HHFT People Awards.
Among the winners of the nine categories were the Basingstoke Children’s Community Nursing Team, awarded the CARE Award for their tireless service to local families, and Andover War Memorial Hospital’s Facilities Site Coordinator, Donna McCormack, who won the Collaboration Award.
The event, held at Winchester Cathedral on June 13, celebrated Trust staff from Andover, Basingstoke, and Winchester, who embody the Trust's values in their daily care for patients.
Nearly 550 nominations were received from the public and staff leading to a series of tea parties across the Trust's three hospitals prior to the event, celebrating all nominees.
Finalists were then selected in each award category and invited to an evening event at the cathedral.
The nine winners, reflecting a range of clinical and non-clinical roles, were announced and awarded their prizes by a member of the Trust's executive team.
The ceremony also featured readings by the inaugural LGBT Poet Laureate, Trudy Howson.
The event coincided with Pride Month and included a poem written by Howson specifically for the NHS.
