A PUB tucked away in the countryside near Basingstoke has been named among some of the best in the country.

The Mutton at Hazeley Heath was named the best in the South East at the National Pub & Bar Awards 2024 on Wednesday, June 26.

The National Pub & Bar Awards recognises excellence in the hospitality industry, taking into consideration customer service, design, style of offer, marketing and investment.

Describing The Mutton on social media, the awards said: "Following a substantial investment from the owners, this venue stands as a testament to the boldness, determination and willingness it can take to overhaul a pub in this day and age.
