FIREFIGHTERS have extinguished a house fire in Basingstoke which caused heavy smoke to billow into the air.
Crews from Basingstoke, Overton, Tadley, Winchester, Andover, and Rushmoor were called to reports of a fire in Hungerford Close.
Firefighters were alerted to the incident at approximately 6pm on Thursday, June 27.

Smoke and flames were coming from the roof of a mid-terraced house, firefighters noticed on arrival at the scene.
The fire, which originated in a ground-floor conservatory, had spread to the first floor and roof. It affected adjacent properties.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus, jets, and hoses to control and extinguish the fire.
Ventilation fans were then used to clear the remaining smoke from the properties involved.
