A MEXICAN fast-food chain in Basingstoke with more than 140 locations in the UK has closed its doors suddenly.

Customers visited Taco Bell, in Wote Street, on Friday, June 28, only to notice the restaurant was closed, with a sign on the door reading: 'This restaurant is closed indefinitely'.

The fast-food chain, which opened on October 11 2021, served a range of Mexican-inspired dishes including tacos, quesadillas, burritos, churros and cinnamon twists.

The branch's owner, T Bello Group; a franchise company in the UK, has reportedly gone into administration, according to the notice.

A spokesperson for Taco Bell told the Gazette: "We want to thank our fans for supporting the Taco Bell in Basingstoke.

"We can confirm that this location is closed; fans can visit locations.tacobell.co.uk to find their nearest Taco Bell."
