BURGLARS stole slippers and a bathmat, among other household items, from an address in Basingstoke.

The incident happened between 8am on Wednesday, July 3 and Saturday, July 6, at an address in Balmoral Court on Alliston Way.

Several household items were stolen, including a padlock, slippers and a bathmat.

Curtains were also damaged.

Police are carrying out enquiries and appealing for witnesses to the incident.

A statement from Hampshire Constabulary reads: "We are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of a burglary in Basingstoke.

"Officers were called to a report that between 8am on Wednesday 3 July and 4.30pm on Saturday 6 July, entry was gained to an address on Balmoral Court on Alliston Way.

"A number of household items and clothing, including a padlock, slippers and a bath mat were stolen. Curtains were also damaged.

"Since this was reported to us, officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries and are appealing for witnesses.
