OBSERVANT locals may have noticed that someone has been round the Oakley with a can of white paint.
The purpose of the visit is to mark all the many areas on our village streets that require some refurbishment, some tarmac repairs where the road has deteriorated, reaching a point of being dangerous.
These white marks don't bear any dates, hence it could be quite some time before any action is taken, but it does make it look as though someone cares.
Most of the village, and we are far from alone, could do with a complete overhaul as patching seldom has a long term lasting effect.
