FATHER and son duo, Lance and Charlie Forster, from Basingstoke Golf Club, won the Antlers 36-hole Scratch Foursomes Medal event.
The prestigious competition, on Sunday, July 7, was held at Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club in Richmond.
The Forster duo gained the top spot with a total score of 142, with an excellent opening round of 66 contributing to their victory.
In the close contest, Liam Cella and James Lennon from Sandy Lodge Golf Club finished second, while Stephen Ross and Jacob Austin from Sunningdale Golf Club claimed third place.
Results were decided after counting back on scores obtained on the renowned JH Taylor course.
Charlie Forster, a previous winner of the Peter Alliss Memorial Trophy on the same course and a player for Long Beach State College in the US, has recently been selected for the GB&I team for the St Andrews Trophy.
The Forsters were presented with a new trophy named the Martin Christmas Trophy, in remembrance of the former President of the host club.
This year, a ballot was needed to reduce the more than 50 teams down to 48 for the competition.
Clubs represented included prestigious UK-based golf clubs like Sunningdale, The Berkshire and Wentworth Club.
This historical tournament, which commenced at Royal Mid-Surrey in 1933, draws its name from the club emblem and once served as the last chance for the GB&I Walker Cup Captain to test potential pairings ahead of the U.S team face-off.
Notables such as the late Bruce Critchley (1974) and Richard Boxall (1981) are part of the roll of honour.
Club general manager Mark Gailey said: "The tournament was a huge success, with the biggest and best quality field in many years.
"We had tremendous feedback from the competitors who complimented the condition of the course and the greens, as well as the catering and general organisation. Once again, The Antlers proved itself as the leading scratch foursomes event in the country."
