THE Basingstoke Junior Ice Hockey Club and Basingstoke Buffalo held its annual awards last weekend at the Irish Centre.
Cam Buckle was a double winner for Buffalo as he picked up the best forward and coaches’ player trophies.
Popular forward Janne Virtanen was voted the Players’ Player, Freddie Stephens was the Best D Man and Harry Tempest picked up the award for Most Improved Player.
For the under-18 Bison, Freddie Stephens did the double winning the Players’ Player and Best Defence.
Other awards went to Ellis Austin (Best Forward), Harrison Hallin (Coaches’ Player), Josh Bundy (MVP) and Harry Tempest (Most Improved).
The awards for the under-16 Bison were as follows: Gregely Balog (Players’ Player), Ellis Austin (Best Forward), Charlie Gaskin (Coaches’ Player), Harrison Hallin (Best Defence), Oscar Minton (MVP) and Ethan Wiltshire (Most Improved).
Ollie Hagedorn was another double winner for the under-14 Bison winning the Players’ Player and Best Defence.
The other trophies went to Eddie Fitter and Henry Warwick (Most Improved), Ethan Hills (Best Forward), Ethan Lewis (MVP) and Jacob Young (Coaches’ Player).
Riley Boulding picked up two awards for the under-12 Bison as he won the Players’ Player and Best Defence.
Michael Hudec picked up the Most Improved award, while Rodrigo Murphy won the Coaches’ Award and Hugo Skinns the Best Forward.
For the Let’s Play Hockey and Under-10 Bison the following trophies were awarded: Rex O’Toole (Players’ Player), Ryan Mezo-Balint (Special Recognition), Harrison Oates (Rookie of the Year), Penelope Pinto (Coaches’ Player), Orion Robinson (MVP), Ostin Robinson (Best Defence) and Jack White (Best Forward).
