BASINGSTOKE and Mid Hants provided nine talented athletes for the 70 strong Hampshire team to take part in the 93rd Track and Field Championships in Birmingham.

The Hampshire athletes, along with one athlete representing Somerset set off for Birmingham, on Thursday, July 9, for the championships at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.

They were part of one of the largest contingents in recent times from the Basingstoke club.

The English Schools Track and Field Championships is well known for helping to create stars and is the fourth largest event of its type in the world.
