SCOTT Baldwin smacked four big sixes off the last eight balls he received to change Hartley Wintney's fortunes in their Southern Premier League match against promotion chasing Division 2 visitors Portsmouth & Southsea.
In all, he cleared the boundary ropes six times in a quick fire 65 off 45 balls to lift Hartley Wintney from an uncertain 144-7 to 232 all out.
Earlier, Scotland U17 starlet Ethan Ramsay glued Hartley's top order together with a patient 71 (11 fours) before being sixth out at 135. A Bradfield student, Ramsay is in Hampshire's Pathway system and quickly underlined his versatility by dismissing P & S opener Matt Benfield.
The visitors were on the back foot after that, although Ed Rockett (37) and latterly Tom Benfield (37 not out) made runs, P & S were 18 runs short of the required 171 (in 36.4 overs) when play was abandoned due to heavy rain.
The win lifted Hartley Wintney out of the two-down drop zone, ahead of St Cross Symondians II and Gosport Borough.
