BASINGSTOKE residents are being urged by the council to not approach a stray dog in Beggarwood.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has asked residents to not approach or chase a stray dog spotted near the A30 in Beggarwood.
The council placed a post on Facebook, saying: "Please do not approach, call, chase, follow or try to grab - he/she will run."
It added that it knows 'many local residents are worried about the animal's safety'.
If residents see the dog they are asked to call or text 07816 492791. The council's dog warden, Laura, is working with Lost Dog Recovery UK South to safely trap the dog.
Lost Dog Recovery UK South is a non-profit organisation made up of volunteers. It provides advice, mapping, poster design, trapping equipment and online support for missing dogs.
