THE COSTELLO school has won a grant of £5,000 from the Tesco’s Stronger Start Fund.

On Thursday, July 4, The Costello School hosted Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane, Cllr Dan Putty, and Tesco colleagues to celebrate being picked for a community grant.

The money granted is said to go into enhancing the pastoral and wellbeing care for all students across the school.

Its ambition is to create and develop the Harriet Wellbeing Centre and its surrounding garden to offer a safe, calming environment for students of the school who need support with their mental health and wellbeing.

In the school's newsletter, Costello Insights, it said: “We are grateful to Tesco for choosing us as the winner of a community grant.”

Tesco Stronger Starts is a scheme which began in 2016 that supports thousands of local community projects and good causes across the UK.
