A STOLEN van was abandoned in the middle of a road after a hit-and-run incident near Basingstoke.
The crash happened on Winchester Street in Overton at around 5.50pm yesterday, Friday, July 26.
A white Ford Transit fled the scene of the crash and was found abandoned in the middle of the road in Spents Lane with notable damage to its wheels.
Police were unable to locate the driver but confirmed the van to have been stolen from the Bedfordshire area.

A statement from Hampshire Constabulary reads: "Basingstoke Rural Police attended Winchester Street in Overton for an RTC on the 26th July at 1750hrs.
"In Sprents Lane we discovered the van that had caused the RTC having been abandoned in the middle of the road.
"On further checks we have found the van to have been stolen from the Bedfordshire area.
"Unfortunately we were unable to locate the driver but we have seized the vehicle for forensic examination."
