FROM CarFest to a beer festival, Basingstoke has plenty of events to help you get out and about this summer.

This list promises something for everyone, from those who enjoy old-school tunes, want a fun-filled getaway with the family, or want to try a range of street foods.

In no particular order:

CarFest

Radio DJ Chris Evans' festival at Laverstoke Park Farm from August 23 to 25 will feature stars including The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, Beverley Knight and more.

Also making an appearance are the pop group Scouting for Girls, actor turned-musician Damian Lewis, and musician Richard Ashcroft. In addition to the live music, celebrities such as Rob Brydon and James May will hit the stage to host panels about their experiences.

The festival, which raises funds for a host of charities including BBC Children in Need and Teenage Cancer Trust, has a focus on 'admiring the fastest cars' with race tracks, commentators and more.

Taking place from August 23 to 26, at Wildwood Farm in Old Basing, this festival offers visitors a choice between camping or glamping, promising an event to help you 'step back in time'.

Vanlife Eats

For the foodies out there, this three-day festival caters to those who would rather opt for a caravan than a tent, to celebrate 'van life'.

Held at Dummer Down from August 23 to August 25, this dog-friendly event has a host of activities for the whole family to enjoy including archery, axe throwing and tool crafting.

An artisan market complete with arts and craft stalls, as well as a range of food with a focus on local produce, is also open to guests in addition to a range of cooking demos with celebrity chefs and industry experts.

Witchfest Pagan Festival

Aimed at building an 'inclusive Pagan community' this festival welcomes 'all who come with an open mind'.  The festival will take place from August 16 to 19 at Dummer Down Farm and promises a family-friendly atmosphere.

There are talks, workshops, live bands, fire performers, a fire sculpture, a fire walk, and a 'witchy shopping' area to entertain campers throughout the three-day festival.

Food and drinks are also available, with the Witchfest Bar serving up mead for those wanting to try something different.

Basingstoke Beer Festival

For those more suited to relaxing with a cold beer this festival will be spread over three days from September 6 to September 8.

With more than 30 beers and ciders, food, and live music on a Saturday, this free festival is located just a 15-minute walk away from Basingstoke train station, in May's Bounty cricket ground.
