BASINGSTOKE'S best and worst GP surgeries, according to patients, have been revealed following a survey.

Every year, the NHS surveys patients across the country, who are asked to give their opinions on their practice on a range of different topics from overall experience to how easy it is to contact the surgery.

At the top of the list for the Basingstoke area, 86.4 per cent of patients who visited Watership Down Health in Kingsclere expressed that they overall had a positive experience at the surgery.

Hot on its heels, Whitchurch Surgery in Whitchurch received a score of 83.7 per cent. The practice was the highest-rated surgery in 2023, with a score of 90 per cent.

Next on the ranking, visiting Odiham Health Surgery in Odiham was deemed to be a good experience for 79.8 per cent of patients.

At the bottom of the list, just over half of the patients at Camrose Gillies and Hackwood Partnership thought of their visit as positive, as the Brighton Hill surgery was scored at 55.1 per cent.

The NHS surveyed 700,000 people from January 2 to March 25, 2024, asking patients for their views on their doctors' surgeries.

Participants were asked questions about a range of different areas including the ease of making appointments, waiting times, the quality of care given, practice opening times and out-of-hours services.

The number of surveys completed varies from surgery to surgery and does not represent every patient who is registered at any one centre.
