A BASINGSTOKE man who drove a car while disqualified has been jailed for flagrant disregard for court orders.
Paul Cooper, 55, of St Peters Road in Basingstoke, drove a motor vehicle on Abbey Road on July 12 while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence.
He also failed to stop the vehicle when required to do so by a constable in uniform.

He neither had third-party insurance for the vehicle he was driving.
Following a guilty plea, Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 16, issued a total custodial period of 38 weeks with imprisonment period of 16 weeks.
The court said the offences were so serious and because of his flagrant disregard for court orders, only a custodial sentence can be justified.
