The paddling pool at a popular Basingstoke park has been forced to close after heavy rain.
Flash flooding hit Basingstoke on Thursday evening, August 1, after a downpour battered the town.
A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms was in place as drivers were forced to navigate the flooding roads, including the A33, Houndmills Roundabout, and Alecon Link.
UPDATES: Roads and railway flooded around Basingstoke causing travel disruption
The heavy rain flooded Eastrop Park put the paddling pool and boathouse out of action.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has said: "We’re sorry to let you know that the paddling pool and boathouse at Eastrop Park are temporarily closed due to flooding, following last night's heavy rain.
"We are working as quickly as we can to reopen both facilities as soon as possible and we will keep you updated.
"The play area at Eastrop Park and the council’s other water play facility, the splash pad at Chineham Park, are open."
This comes merely weeks after the pool reopened after maintenance work was completed due to a crack in the pool's surface and further vandalism.
