Marnel Lodge Care Home in Basingstoke held its annual family fun day with residents, their families, friends, and staff in attendance.

Planning for the event was completed by the residents in conjunction with manager Anju Abraham and the home's activities team.

A variety of raffle and tombola prizes were donated by local businesses and contributors.

Prizes included a Fortnum and Mason hamper, as well as donations from various local companies. New Head Chef, Symoun Genobatin, provided barbecue food for everyone present.

The event raised a total of £595.45.

The proceeds will go directly to the residents' fund, allowing them the opportunity to choose how the money will be used; potentially even donating to a local charity.

Anju said: "We love arranging events to get families, friends and staff together. Everyone was made welcome, the weather was kind and we had an entertainer, Amanda Parsons who come regularly to Marnel Lodge and is a favourite entertainer for our residents."

Anju said she is proud of all the work and effort the team put in in to make this a great success.
