THE Grimethorpe Colliery Band is preparing for an afternoon concert in Basingstoke.
The concert will take place at The Anvil on Sunday, September 29, with the band performing at 3pm.
The band has a well-established history, having formed during the First World War in 1917, and is held in high esteem as a British institution.
It has achieved numerous accolades, including National and British Open Championships.

They are renowned for their varied concert performances which span a range of prominent events. These include performances at the FIFA World Cup, BAFTA Awards, BBC Proms, Eurovision, and notably the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
The band has also appeared on national and international television and radio broadcasts, and offers professional recordings as well.
Grimethorpe Colliery Band's contributions to the global hit movie Brassed Off earned them two gold discs and a BAFTA nomination.
While they continue to charm audiences world over, the band remains a cornerstone of its local community in Grimethorpe, Barnsley and South Yorkshire.
They actively invest in and support community initiatives, specifically youth music programmes and performances.
To attend the performance at The Anvil, tickets can be acquired for £28 and for under 25s at £15.
