DRIVERS in and around Basingstoke and Deane will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a wait of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A303, from 10pm May 19 to 5am September 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 both directions Bullington Cross to Wash Common, carriageway closure for National Grid works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M3, from 8pm August 7 to 6am August 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 8 to junction 9, Lane closures for technology work.

• A34, from 8pm August 9 to 6am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound to A303 westbound, link road and lane closures for barrier work.

• A303, from 9pm August 11 to 6am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 7, slip road closure for maintenance work.

• A303, from 9pm August 15 to 6am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Overton, slip road and lane closures for maintenance work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
