BASINGSTOKE Town Community Football Club have announced the relaunch of its Community Club Membership programme, introducing new benefits and a seasonal membership system aligned with the football calendar.

The 100 per-cent fan-owned club are encouraging their supporters and the wider community to join as members ahead of the start of the new season on Saturday, August 10.

The scheme offers them a unique opportunity to become co-owners of the club and actively participate in the decision-making processes.

Since transitioning to a community-owned model in 2017, Basingstoke Town have relied on its Community Club Members as the backbone of the club.

These members, who effectively serve as shareholders, are given a direct voice in the club's operations, including voting on critical matters such as board elections and other important decisions.

The relaunched membership aims to generate additional revenue, all of which will be reinvested into the club’s various initiatives.

These include the full-time football and education academy, pan-disability football sessions, and partnerships with local charities, all of which are designed to make a positive impact in the Basingstoke community.

One of the most significant changes in the relaunch is the introduction of a seasonal membership system.

Memberships will now run from the start to the end of each football season, ensuring alignment with the club’s calendar.

The annual fee for membership has been set at £25, with new and enhanced benefits designed to provide greater value for members.

Some of the standout benefits for the new season include:

Equal Ownership: Each member will hold an equal share in the club, reinforcing the fan-owned ethos of Basingstoke Town.

Discounts: Members will enjoy a 10 per cent discount on drinks at the club’s newly opened clubhouse.

Exclusive Access: Invitations to members-only pre-match Q&A sessions with the first team’s management and players.

Priority Ticketing: Priority access to FA Cup and FA Trophy tickets, a benefit also shared with season ticket holders.

Voting Rights: Members will have a direct say in club matters, including voting at the annual AGM and influencing decisions such as next season’s kit design.

Becoming a Community Club Member is straightforward. Interested individuals can sign up either online or by filling out a paper form available at the clubhouse.

Upon payment of the £25 membership fee, new members will receive a membership card, which will be required to access certain benefits, such as the 10 per cent discount on drinks.

Existing members are encouraged to renew their memberships to take full advantage of the new benefits. Those wishing to participate in the upcoming AGM in November must be registered as a 2024/25 Community Club Member.

The club’s management said the growing membership base is a way to deepen the connection between the club and the community it represents.

The new clubhouse facility is expected to become a hub for members, offering a space where they can gather, socialise, and engage more closely with the club.
