A BASINGSTOKE drug driver has been disqualified for three years for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of benzoylecgonine.
Ashley Young, 41, of Braddock Court, pleaded guilty to driving a silver Volkswagen on Winchester Road on January 10, while benzoylecgonine in his blood was above the specified limit.
He had 240ug/L benzoylecgonine in his blood. The specified limit is 50ug/L.

Young also pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis on the same day.
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court disqualified him from driving for three years and ordered him to pay a total fine of £165. He should also pay £85 costs and £66 surcharge.
The court also ordered forfeiture and destruction of cannabis.
