THE opening date for a new vets and pet shop coming to Chineham Shopping Centre has been revealed.
Pets Practice and Pets Corner, an independent vets group and carbon-neutral pet store, will open in a unit previously occupied by Poundland after the bargain store closed its doors in late 2023.
The building is undergoing construction as the company prepares to open its doors on Friday, August 16.

A spokesperson for Pets Corner said the store, which will mark its 158th branch, will be the 'biggest to date' and include an 'extended product range'.
The company had previously occupied another unit at the centre which will be closed, with staff and products relocating to the new unit.
The expansion will see the addition of a grooming spa with all-natural products and a vets, both opening in the autumn
The spokesperson added: "This new store will officially be opening on August 16 but we will have an opening weekend on September 21 and 22 that promises to be fun for all the family.
"There will be goodie bags, balloon animals, ice cream and demonstrations from Canine Partner (a dog charity).
"We'll also have our team members dishing out treats and any needed pet advice."
