WORLD snooker champion Mark Williams will face fan favourite Jimmy White in an upcoming 'Clash of the Titans' tournament.

The thrilling match is set to take place on October 15, at 8pm in The Anvil, Basingstoke.

Known for his formidable skills, Williams has three world championships under his belt, while White is yet to win despite reaching the finals in six instances.

Adding excitement to the evening will be Dennis Taylor, a former world champion himself.

Now a known BBC commentator, Taylor will take on the role of host and referee for the event.

The snooker spectacular also gives attendees a chance to engage their favourite stars with a Q&A session.

A spokesperson for the event said: "Due to the indisposition of Stephen Hendry, it has been necessary to arrange an alternative player. We have been fortunate in being able to secure the ever popular Jimmy White in his place."

Alongside standard tickets, which are being sold at £41.50, a select number of VIP meet and greet tickets are also available at an increased price of £79, inclusive of a £4 booking fee.
