TEACHERS and staff from Overton CE Primary School have become internet sensations – even getting the attention of a member of S Club 7.
As part of the school’s end of year celebrations, they secretly filmed a version of Reach by S Club 7 and posted it on TikTok.
The video, the idea of class teacher James Lingham, features staff from across the school community. It has now been watched more than 300,000 times.
James usually posts a weekly TikTok video on his account, mr_lingham, which he shares with his class and sometimes uses these as teaching points about online safety.
He said: “I thought as it was the end of the year, we needed to do something big, and I just rallied all the staff together.
“The message of the song itself is very motivating and inspirational for the Year 6s who were leaving. We wanted the children to understand that we are the people who help them reach for the stars.”
The video was first aired in a school assembly where pupils “went wild”, before getting a brilliant reaction online.

“The most crazy thing about it is that Jo O’Meara [from S Club 7] reposted it, then she followed me and sent me a message about how fun it is – that was a very surreal notification,” James added.
James, who will be teaching Year 6 when school starts again, said his videos are usually watched by children at the school, friends and family, but this video has reached a much wider audience.
The 31-year-old said he is now thinking about how the school can top the video next year.
He continued: “The nice thing is all of the staff are very positive about it.
“No one particularly cares about it, it’s all about having a laugh and making fools of ourselves for the children.”
