SIX volunteers from a Hampshire-based charity are to embark on a 40-mile fundraising walk.
Volunteers from Greyhound Lifeline will walk from Bentley, near Fleet, to Southampton over the weekend of August 31 and September 1.
As well as raising funds for the charity, the aim of 'The Big Walk' is to highlight greyhounds as a pet choice whilst educating the public about the work of the greyhound rescue charity.
The walk will also allow people to interact with greyhounds during stop points on the route.
The charity moved from Fleet to Southampton in 2022 and has since built links across both communities.

They provide retirement homes for racing greyhounds and engage with community groups, including care homes and those supporting adults with additional needs.
Greyhound Lifeline found suitable homes for 35 greyhounds in 2023, and 28 have been homed in the current year.
A spokesperson for the charity said: "Greyhounds make amazing pets but they are quite misunderstood.
"They don’t need lots of exercise and they are pretty lazy, gentle dogs.
"We’d encourage anyone interested in finding out more to come along to any of our stop points.
"This walk covers the distance between our old site in Fleet to our new home in Southampton.
"We’re lucky to have lots of support in both areas.
"We’ll be putting all money raised through The Big Walk into a special fund.
"We’re aiming to raise £4,000 which will go towards buying a paddock for our hounds to run free."
