THE line-up for the finals of the Guy Jewell Cup and Cyril Thompson Trophy is now complete, writes Graham Merry.

The games will take place on Monday, August 26 at May’s Bounty and a bumper crowd is expected, as admission is free.

Holders Basingstoke and North Hants will take on Rotherfield Park in the Cup final which starts at 2.45pm.

Before this Odiham and Greywell B face Chawton in the Trophy finale with the action getting underway at 11am.

A superb century from Kyran Munt booked Odiham’s place in the final, as he hit 122 from 55 balls and was well supported by Scott Collins 34 not out in a winning total of 209-5, as Dan Weir took three wickets for Basingstoke Hockey.

In their reply, they were bowled out for 118. Todd Huthinson top scored with 45 and Josh Weir made 25 and Max Elward 24.

Odiham’s Paul Downham took 3-4 from just eight balls and was backed up by Todd Wiltshire 3-27 and two wickets from Reece Lane.

Odiham warmed up for the final by winning the Hampshire League Division One title last Saturday as they maintained their perfect season with a four wicket victory over Hayling Island.

This made it 12 wins out of 12 for the team and they will be hoping to make it a double winning season on Monday in the Trophy finale.

Their opponents Chawton booked their place in the final with a 10 wicket win over Overton, who won the toss and elected to bat.

Unfortunately, it did not go to plan as they scored 83-9 from 18 overs.

Clarke (23) and Nick Tomlin (17 not out) were the pick of the batsmen.

Sam Charlton 4-13 was the top bowler well supported by Ethan Footit with three wickets and there were two victims from Jacob Channon.

Chawton reached their target in 6.4 overs with Jacob Channon unbeaten on 54 and Sam Charlton 29 not out.
