BASINGSTOKE'S summer of fun will end next week with a jam-packed programme of events for children of all ages.

The activities, including wall climbing, face painting, sports, arts and crafts, and much more, are all completely free.

Back by popular demand, a two-sided climbing wall with different difficulty levels will be available at Russell Howard Park on Wednesday, August 28, from 11am to 3pm. This realistic 'Grip a Rock' surface is perfect for those who love a challenge.

While you're there, children can also personalise a frisbee or softball and get their faces painted by Routine Riots.

Love Basingstoke's popular Fri-YAY programme returns for one last hurrah on Friday, August 30, at War Memorial Park, offering activities for children aged 3-16.

From 11am to 3pm, kids can participate in a range of exciting activities.

WeeKicks North Hants will be hosting football activities with a twist, offering the chance for children aged from 15 months to seven-years-old to score goals after jumping over a sleeping Stegosaurus, wearing a firefighter helmet or pretending to be a snake.

Children will also be able to enjoy disc golf and soft target archery, or create clay flower fairies and owls with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council ranger team.

Even younger children can join their mums for pre-bookable yoga sessions by YogaBellies. These sessions are perfect for mums at least six weeks postpartum and offer a chance to relax and bond with their babies.

For sports enthusiasts, Chineham Rugby Club will be offering an introduction to non-contact rugby for children aged five and above, and a bouncy castle.

A display of entries from the recent Love Basingstoke ‘History Through Your Eyes’ art competition will continue at Basingstoke Discovery Centre between 9.30am and 5pm until Monday, September 2, with visitors enjoying Fri-YAY activities able to pop in and view them at the same time.
