MORE than a thousand residents and businesses in Kingsclere are soon to enjoy extended full fibre broadband connectivity.
Work kicked off last September when Kingsclere was connected to neighbouring villages, Heads Hill and Brimpton, by Gigaclear telecoms company.
Using fibre optic cables, the connection between these communities has now been switched on.
Telegraph engineers have been striving, moving from street to street, either utilising existing infrastructure such as poles and ducting, or digging new trenches to ensure every property is reached.
The village will have full access to the new broadband connection before the end of this month.

Project manager Brandon Stevens mentioned Gigaclear's efforts in making fast and reliable full fibre broadband accessible to often difficult-to-reach rural communities like Kingsclere.
Mr Stevens said: "Taking our full fibre to rural communities that would otherwise have copper or an inferior part fibre broadband connection fundamentally changes them for the better because it creates choice for the people in those communities about how they work and how they live their lives."
