VARNA International Ballet and Orchestra return to the UK to entertain with much-loved classics and will include Basingstoke in their itinerary.
The Bulgarian ballet company, established in 1947 and noted for its award-winning dancers, will perform in Basingstoke as part of a 20-stop tour. Nutcracker will be performed on January 21 at 7.30pm, followed by Swan Lake on January 22 at 7.30pm - both are being held at The Anvil.
The company will deliver performances of celebrated classics such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Romeo and Juliet, which have been appreciated by ballet lovers across the globe.
With Daniela Dimova serving as artistic director and Peter Tuleshkov as music director and chief conductor, the ballet company promises performances that will charm both new spectators and balletomanes.

The Nutcracker will transport audiences into an enchanting fairy-tale world on Christmas Eve as the clock strikes midnight.
This ballet captivates with the timeless Tchaikovsky score and stunning choreography by Vasily Vainonen, revised by Sergey Bobrov.
Tchaikovsky’s haunting and unforgettable score also features in Swan Lake, a tale of tragic romance known as the greatest romantic ballet of all time.
With the help of choreographers, Marius Petipa, Lev Ivanov, Sergey Bobrov and Natalia Matus-Marchuk.

Shakespeare’s tale of love and tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, will tug at the hearts of spectators with Sergey Bobrov and Bakhytzhan Smagulov’s impassioned choreography accompanied by Prokofiev’s soaring score.
The inclusion of Basingstoke in the Varna International Ballet’s upcoming UK tour provides a valuable opportunity for locals to partake in world-class ballet performances on their own doorstep.
