Basingstoke Town endured a frustrating long weekend, recording two consecutive draws in three days, despite remaining unbeaten five games into the season.
The team first drew 3-3 in a thrilling encounter against Gosport Borough on Saturday, squandering a two-goal lead twice.
This was followed by a 1-1 stalemate at home against Bracknell Town on Monday, a match in which the visitors were reduced to nine men in the second half.
In their clash against Gosport, Basingstoke started brightly.
Nnamdi Nwachuku opened the scoring by calmly converting a penalty after George Reid was brought down in the box.
The lead was doubled around the half-hour mark when a misplaced punch from the Gosport goalkeeper fell to Reid, who impressively lobbed the ball into the net from the edge of the box.
Gosport halved the deficit just before halftime with a well-executed one-two that led to a goal in the 36th minute.
'Stoke also suffered a setback when captain Simon Dunn was forced off due to injury, with Paul Hodges coming on as his replacement.
The visitors extended their lead early in the second half as Nwachuku converted his second penalty of the match after Reid was fouled again in the box, making it 3-1.
However, Gosport staged a late comeback, scoring in the 80th and 87th minutes to level the game at 3-3.
'Stoke were unable to find a winner in the seven minutes of added time, leaving them to rue missed opportunities.
Monday's home game against Bracknell Town provided another chance for three points, and 'Stoke seemed on track when Liam Ferdinand scored early, finishing off a pass from Robbie Gallagher.
But Bracknell responded just before halftime, with Jordan Esprit equalising in the 44th minute.
The second half saw Bracknell reduced to nine men, with George Knight sent off for a late challenge after receiving an earlier yellow card for dissent, and Dylan Ive receiving a straight red for a challenge on Paul Hodges.
Despite the numerical advantage for the last 30 minutes, 'Stoke were unable to capitalise and the match ended in another frustrating draw.
Basingstoke Town will look to bounce back from the disappointing weekend as they face Sholing in FA Cup first qualifying round at home at 3pm on Saturday, August 31.
