The Bounty Inn, which has quickly become a community favourite after it reopened in May 2022, has been voted as 'Punch Pubs' Fireside branded pub of the year, and also securing its place in the final stage of the competition.

The Great British Pub Awards, often referred to as the 'Oscars' of the pub industry, will be held on September 17 at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester.

“It has been a pleasure and an honour to see the Bounty return to a pub the community can enjoy and be proud of.”

The achievement marks a significant milestone for The Bounty, which has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past two years.

It reopened following the investment by independent pub operators Punch Pubs & Co, with management partner Chris Wood taking the helm.

Sitting in the heart of Basingstoke, the historic pub dates back to the 1800s.

Mr Wood said: "It is a very exciting time for us at the Bounty which has been a culmination of two years of hard work, not just from myself but my extremely talented and loyal team. Without their support and hard work we would not be in a position to be nominated.

"We had a clear vision when we took over the Bounty, that we would return the pub to a place the locals can be proud of, so being recognised in such a way it just shows we are already winners in the eyes of the locals and our peers, I just hope we can continue to keep the Bounty a place for the community to relax and enjoy."
