TWO of the most promising young ice hockey players in Basingstoke, Harry Tempest and Felix Hemmings-Maher have both joined the Oxford City Stars as their home rink awaits its long-awaited refurbishment.

Teenage forward Tempest stepped up last autumn for his first full season with the Buffs and did not disappoint as he scored twice in 21 games.

He has spent his whole career in Basingstoke and is a really hard working forward who gives his all in every shift he plays.

He made his league debut for Oxford last Sunday, as they won at the Milton Keynes Thunder 3-2.

He scored on his league debut for the Stars against MK, while former Buffalo Xander Robinson netted for the Thunder on his league debut.

The game also saw Freddie Stephens make his league debut for MK.

In other news, top junior coach at Basingstoke Simon Beere has also joined the Oxford organisation and will bring a wealth of experience to their club, as one of the most respected coaches at this level.
